When the concept of Allegiance became an abiding preoccupation for artist Kristin Tennyson, its subtle conundrums were to imbue every painted gesture, form and flourish in God, Queen and Country.

Setting herself the mission to examine why creed, empire and nation shape the human psyche and mutate it through migration, Tennyson’s exhibition confronts her unease about where she belongs.
